Opal Craig grew up in Kansas. She went to high school in Mc Donald Kansas and was on the girls basketball team as well as other sports. When she was young she had ajob as a cook for men who worked in the fields. She had to cook for a large group of men everyday and she learned to cook very well at a young age. When she married Cliff Mann they moved in with family untill they could get a place of there own. When she was young she thought a pig had chewed her little finger off when she put it through a whole in the fence. Years later her brother Floyd admitted he had done it with a blade but blamed it on the pig so he wouldn't get in trouble. She went to visit her Grandma once as a child who lived in another state. Her Grandma did not like children very much this was her mothers mother. She didn't think that Opal did something right and she had had bad memories of her grandma ever since. This may be one reason she was such a wonderful grandma to all of her grandchildren. She worked hard all of her life and was always busy. One of her happy moments was the day she got her own stove and also her own washer.
