Letter from Billie Lee Rammelsberg states that Amy Hoover may have been Margaret Amy Hoover, who later married Andrew Johnson, and had at least one other son, Rufus Johnson. Doris Hoover Stirts had a picture of Israel and his half brother Rufus Johnson. This Margaret Amy is a descendant of Andreas Hoover, who is also the
ancestor of President Herbert Hoover.
Grandpa Hoover, Joseph Henry told me (Nadine York) that he was a descendent of one of two brothers that came to America--Andrew and Christian Huber (later spelled Hoover), and that he was related to Herbert Hoover.
