Wendall I. Travis, 68, of 250 Bernita Dr. NW, died Monday morning, Feb. 7, 1994, in his home following a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday,
Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight. The Rev. Don McGarvey will officiate. Entombment: Linwood Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; a son, Dennis of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Cheryle Opfer of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Earl Travis of Fort Scott, Kan.; and a
sister, Wilma Carter of Winterset.

Also surviving are four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Camp and Maude Simmons, and a brother, Joe.

Born Jan. 31, 1926, in Peru, Iowa, to Martin and Nellie Hoover Travis, he married Marilyn Thoren on May 28, 1949. For more than 41 years, he worked for
Northwestern Bell, retiring in 1983. Mr. Travis attended First Assembly of God Church and was a member of Telephone Pioneers.

A memorial fund has been established.
